Counselors from SHINE are available to assist with Medicare enrollment. SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and your local Area Agency on Aging. Join them for a session about Medicare basics and the importance of enrollment periods.

The Friends of the Englewood Charlotte Library will be sponsoring a “Bag O Books Sale” On Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10:00AM – 2:00PM at the Community Building in Tringale Park, 3450 N. Access Rd. in Englewood. Hundreds of books will be available, fiction, non-fiction, best selling authors, for those choosing to purchase and fill a bag for $5.00.

For this presentation, Uzi Baram, President of UBHeritage, will start with insights and information on the ancient architecture at Indian Mound Park. Those ancient people were not alone; Dr. Baram will give the larger regional and Florida context for the ancient ways of life and connect the findings to our ecological challenges today. By understanding the robust heritage of our region, archaeology can offer future possibilities for our environment.

Kathryn Chesney, character speaker on 1/11/24 at 2pm portraying Carrie Chapman Catt, hear the story of the fight for women’s rights as told by one of the leaders of the movements. As the President of the National American Woman Suffrage Association, it was Carrie’s work which got the last state to vote to pass the Amendment, hear her story of her life and times before and after women had the right to vote.
